"THE JEST SET"

From the 1950’s to the 1980’s, a group of glamorous international people went by the name “The Jet Set”. They were movie stars, playboys, heirs and heiresses, deposed royalty, artists, race car drivers, rich old men, and beautiful young women. They lived in night clubs, exclusive resorts, and married and divorced each other multiple times.

This sexy crowd of “beautiful people” was tracked, followed and made famous by a group of photographers. From the Cote d’Azur, St. Moritz, Capri, Palm Beach to Paris and New York, they were photographed constantly, and these images of luxury, pleasure, idleness and high style went around the world. The work of Slim Aarons, Harry Benson, Ron Galella, Roxanne Lowit, Edward Quinn, and Francis Apesteguy, among others, recorded this life and the images still interest and fascinate us.
