Born in London in 1919 and brought up in Paris,
John Stewart came to photography in the early 50s and worked for Harper's
Bazaar under Alexei Brodovitch.His work is in major collections and
museums around the world.
Dried thyme, folded clothes, field flowers,
all take on a gravity and significance in the work of John Stewart.
Fresson prints are made in France by Michel
Fresson. Ath the end of the 19th century, the fresson family developed
a method of charcoal printing which has continued for four generations.
