Genevieve Naylor's career spanned forty years and touched on so many aspects of photography. As a photojournalist, she was one of the first women hired by the Associated press. She went on to work for the State Department covering Brazil under the US "good neighbor policy." She spent 15 years at Harper's Bazaar where she synthesized photojournalism and fashion to produce her unique vision. During her varied career, she also covered the Korean War for Look magazine as well as assignments on Hollywood film sets.

Naylor was born in 1915 in Springfield, Massachusetts and died in 1989.
