About Jesse Alexander

Jesse Alexander was born in Santa Barbara, California, in 1929. In a career which began in Mexico in 1953, Alexander has become the country's premier photographer of motorsports. As a young man in Europe, he began photographing Fomula One races, as well as the international manufacturer's championship events for American and European magazines. His work captures the excitement and drama of this thrilling and dangerous sport.His images have appeared in every prominent automotive publication in the world, including Car and Driver, Road and Track, and Automotive magazines, as well as Sports Illustrated and News Week. His many publications include: At Speed, Looking Back, Salute to Ferrari, and Forty Years of Motorsport Photography. His photographs are included in many private and corporate collections. He was honored by the Motor Press Guild with a Dean Bachelor Lifetime Achievement Award.
